Children’s knowledge of letter names and shapes is a strong predictor of their success in learning to read. Knowing letter names is strongly related to children’s ability to remember the forms of written words and their ability to treat words as sequences of letters. To enable the Prideens to learn and apply the concept of early literacy in many of their everyday activities and to provide multiple ways for students to enjoy the concept, recognition, and identification of Letter K was done with the help of the story of a boy named Kevin. Letter recognition and sounds were reinforced through interesting and engaging activities like tracing, having kiwi breaks, coloring and forming the letter with kidney beans, etc.
